Miia Kivipelto, MD, PhD, is Professor in Clinical Geriatrics at Karolinska Institutet (KI), Center for Alzheimer Research and senior geriatrician and Director for Research & Development of Medical Unit Aging at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden. Part of her Nordic Brain Network multidisciplinary research team (around 100 researchers and clinical staff) is located at University of Eastern Finland and Imperial College London, UK, where she has part time position as Professor. Her frontline research findings have been published in leading journals (330+ publications, H-index 75) and she has received numerous prestigious awards. Dr. Kivipelto’s translational research focuses on the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of cognitive impairment, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Through epidemiological studies, Prof. Kivipelto has identified various lifestyle and vascular risk factors for dementia and interactions with genetic factors and clarified underlying mechanisms. She is the PI of the landmark FINGER trial and founder and scientific leader of World-Wide FINGERS network. Professor Kivipelto is often invited to leading global dementia conferences and task forces.

Prof. Félix Viñuela Fernández is a renowned specialist in Neurology and an expert in memory disorders, cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease and dementia. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Navarra, specialized in Neurology and received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Seville. He currently teaches the subject "Medical pathology of the endocrine system, Rheumatology, Nephrology and nervous system" at the University of Seville. In addition, he has published books and written chapters in books of his specialty. Currently, he works as director of the Neurosciences Unit at the Victoria Eugenia Hospital and as a neurologist in his own private practice.

Prof. Javier Mar is a Scientific Director of the Clinical Management Unit, Hospital Alto Deba, Arrasate-Mondragón, Gipuzkoa, Spain, where he worked for the last 22 years. He also leads the Economic Evaluation Group in Chronic Diseases within the Biodonostia Research Institute. His research interests are in epidemiology and the economic evaluation of diagnostic and therapeutic clinical decision-making, particularly in neurological and chronic diseases. He is specialized in the development and application of population models built with discrete event simulation (DES) and Markov models to cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses of health programs, and recently the application DES modeling to epidemiological studies to simulate clinical or epidemiological processes that cannot be observed, as early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
